
Two days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the region, a fierce gunfight broke out early Friday morning in Jammu between security officials and terrorists near an army base. Officials said the shoot-out resulted in the deaths of two terrorists, one security officer, and four others. Security personnel conducted a pre-dawn operation in Jammu’s Sunjwan cantonment sector, which sparked the conflict. According to the authorities, terrorists were planning an attack on the city. According to the Central Industrial Security Force, terrorists assaulted a bus carrying CISF officers, killing an Assistant Sub Inspector (CISF).
