After a Supreme Court panel determined that the suspects in the gangrape and murder of a 26-year-old veterinarian in 2019 were reportedly executed by police in Hyderabad under the guise of an encounter, their relatives chanted, “The truth is out… the government should now back us with compensation.”
However, the information came as a painful afterthought for the veterinarian’s family. “We are not yet completely aware of all of the Commission’s findings, but we support the police authorities,” a close relative stated.
