
Three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were injured on Monday when Naxals opened fire on a newly established security forces camp in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, according to a senior official.
Around 6 a.m., a group of ultras began firing in the vicinity of the Elmagunda camp, which is located within the Chintagufa police station limits, prompting security forces stationed there to retaliate, according to Inspector General of Police (Bastar range) Sundarraj P.
Hemant Chaudhary, head constable of the CRPF’s 2nd battalion, and constables Basappa and Lalit Bagh were injured in the incident, he said.
The injured jawans’ condition was reported to be stable, and they will be transferred to a medical facility for further treatment, according to the IGP.
