A woman was stabbed to death during a political event, on the island of Gotland on Wednesday. The police said that, the woman would be in her 60’s and she was killed in the daylight noon, about 2 pm, where the country’s top political parties gathered for an annual event in Sweden.
Fredrik Persson, the chief of Gotland police told, the victim was given first aid before taking to the hospital but unfortunately she died.
A man had been arrested as suspicion of murder shortly after the attack, said the police.
Newspaper Expressen reported that the suspect might had links with the neo-Nazi group but the police wouldn’t confirm this. They are undergoing this investigation, as this murder has happened in the public place.
The police did not comment on the motive, as he conceded that the political motive would be ruled out in this early stage of investigation.
