
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Tuesday that India’s borders must be protected, that it will never accept any attempt to “unilaterally change the status quo,” and that any Retaliation will be taken against anyone who “departs from established thinking.” He was speaking to the foreign diplomatic corps at a special ceremony to commemorate the Modi government’s eight years in power.
“We will not allow anyone to have a veto over our judgments,” he said, overcoming history’s hesitations.
For the past two years, India has been in talks with China over a boundary dispute in Eastern Ladakh.
