In the last 24 hours, India reported 1,660 new COVID-19 cases, 2,349 recoveries, and 4,100 deaths.
The increase in reported deaths is due to states revising their fatality tally.
Due to data reconciliation, the cumulative death toll in Maharashtra increased to 1,47,779 from 1,43,772. After receiving appeals based on the Centre’s new guidelines and the Supreme Court’s directions, 79 deaths in Kerala were designated as COVID-19 deaths.
Meanwhile, the new coronavirus infections brought India’s total COVID-19 case count to 4,30,18,032, while active cases fell to 16,741.
