Today is the election day for 13 Rajya Sabha seats in six states. Punjab has the most seats, with five, followed by Kerala with three, Assam with two, and Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Tripura with one apiece. The voting and counting of ballots will take place today.
The BJP is expected to win at least five seats after dominating the recently ended Assembly elections in five states. In the 245-member Rajya Sabha, the saffron party currently has 97 members.
