Finance Ministry: Supreme Court Decision Won’t Change GST Regime

The Finance Ministry claimed on Thursday that the Supreme Court ruling has no effect on the running of the GST regime or the institutional structure for its administration, even as certain States applauded the decision for clearly articulating and defending their rights.

The GST Council, which the Finance Ministry called “the best example of collaborative and cooperative federalism,” claimed the Supreme Court had “only expanded” on its functional structure in its findings.
