Following the recent riots in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri neighbourhood, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a law-and-order review meeting on Monday night and issued a set of directives.
During a Hanuman Jayanti parade in Jahangirpuri, Delhi, violence erupted over the weekend. Nine persons were injured as a result of the accident and were sent to the hospital for treatment.
The Uttar Pradesh government stated in a statement that the directives were given since the Eid and Akshay Tritiya holidays are expected to fall on the same day early next month.
