According to a recent travel update, passengers will be able to board bullet trains every 22 minutes between Delhi and Varanasi! On the Delhi-Varanasi High Speed Rail Corridor, the bullet train is slated to commence service soon (DVHSR). The railway ministry made the announcement recently in the Rajya Sabha. A survey will be conducted in order to prepare the detailed project report (DPR) for seven corridors, including the DVHSR. According to officials, the 813-kilometer-long corridor will include 13 stations, one underground in Delhi and 12 elevated in Uttar Pradesh.
The train would travel at 330 km/hr and take 3 hours and 33 minutes to reach Varanasi from Delhi. A 15-kilometer-long tunnel is planned for the underground station. “A total of 43 trains will arrive at the Avadh crossing station every 22 minutes,” according to the official. According to the proposed plan, 18 trains would run every 47 minutes from Varanasi on a daily basis. The train will depart from Hazrat Nizamuddin and make stops at the Noida Sector 146 metro station, the (upcoming) Jewar Airport, Mathura, Agra, Etawah, Kannauj, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Bhadohi, and Manduadih in Varanasi.
Another stretch of the DVHSR has been proposed to connect Lucknow and Ayodhya, according to the government. Everything, however, is contingent on the availability of funds. In addition to the Delhi-Varanasi route, surveys will be done for the Varanasi-Howrah, Delhi-Amritsar, Delhi-Ahmedabad, Mumbai-Hyderabad, Mumbai-Nagpur, and Chennai-Mysore through Bengaluru lines.
