
General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Chief of Army Staff, will retire on Saturday after more than 40 years of service in the Indian Army, including 28 months as Chief of Army Staff. As the 27th Army Chief, Naravane was in charge of ensuring the highest level of operational preparedness to meet current and emerging challenges, as well as developing necessary capacities and infrastructure, with a focus on the northern and northeastern borders.
Before leaving his post, Naravane laid a wreath at the National War Memorial and received the guard of honor on the South Block lawns.
