
In Congregation for Bishops, a woman to be named by Pope Francis
In Congregation for Bishops, Pope Francis said, he wanted to give women a top level positions in the Holy see and he will disclose it for the first time he would name a woman to the previously all male Vatican committee that helps him to select the world bishops.
The 85-year-old Pontiff discussed in an interview on July about the role of the woman in the Vatican church. He said that, he is open in giving the women an opportunity in the government.
A new constitution for the Holy See’s has come into effect last month, which has allowed any baptized catholic church, including any lay, man or woman to head the Vatican departments.
Last year he mentioned that he will name a woman and give a position in the government, as he said, Sister Raffaella Petrini has been ranked the highest in the world’s smallest state.
He said ,2 women will be appointed in the congregation for Bishops, but it hasn’t been announced officially.
