
Officials claimed on Friday that a section of a four-lane tunnel under construction on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Ramban district collapsed, wounding four persons and trapping numerous more.
According to them, a tiny piece of the front side of the tunnel at Khoni nallah fell during an audit on Thursday night, prompting a joint rescue effort by police and the Army.
Officials said four people were rescued injured and that numerous others are still trapped inside the tunnel.
They stated many machineries and vehicles, including bulldozers and trucks, positioned on the tunnel’s front side, were damaged.
According to authorities, Ramban Deputy Commissioner Massaratul Islam and Senior Superintendent of Police Mohita Sharma are on the scene, directing the rescue operation.
