In response to the Covid outbreak, the BBMP has made masks mandatory in public areas in Bengaluru

Bengaluru’s civic administration has made masks essential in public areas and planned to expand virus testing from 16,000 to 20,000 per day due to a rise in Covid-19 cases.

“Every day, about 200 new Covid incidents are reported, and we conduct 16,000 tests.” Tushar Girinath, the Chief Commissioner, has now requested that we increase the number of tests we undertake commercial labs from 16,000 by the BBMP to 20,000. On Monday, Dr Harish Kumar, special commissioner of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, told reporters, “We will intensify information, education, and communication initiatives.”
