
In the midst of an economic and political crisis in Sri Lanka, India has made it clear that its policy toward Colombo is “driven” by the “best interests of the people of Sri Lanka expressed via democratic procedures.”
“India fully supports its democracy, stability, and economic revival,” the ministry of external affairs stated in a statement.
The country is in the midst of a full-fledged economic crisis, with basic commodity costs skyrocketing and affecting the average citizen.
