Italy distributes the second covid-19 booster.

Italy has started the process of distributing the covid-19 second booster across the country for the most risk members.

AIFA, Italy medicine agency gave approval for issuing vaccine of second booster for over 80’s and also over age of 60 and people who are vulnerable.

The approval in Italy comes a week after the European medicines agency recommended the fourth dose for the age over 80.

In both the cases the shots will be distributed only after the previous vaccine was received 120 days earlier, the Xinhua news agency reported.

This second vaccine will represent as the fourth vaccine for the Italian residents and second booster will be like the third vaccine dose for those who received the previous one –dose vaccine Johnson& Johnson.

More than 48.5 million people have been fully vaccinated over the age of 12 and that excludes booster shots, and that comprises of 90% of Italy’s population.
