
In a confrontation that broke out in the Kupwara district on Thursday morning (May 26, 2022), three terrorists linked with Pakistan-based organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were neutralized. The Kashmir Zone police said they initiated an operation after obtaining specific information about a terrorist infiltration attempt in Kupwara’s Jumagund hamlet. When infiltrating militants were intercepted by the army and police, a clash between security personnel and terrorists erupted.
“An #encounter has begun when infiltrating terrorists were stopped by the #Army and #Police based on a specific input developed by #KupwaraPolice regarding infiltration attempt of #terrorists in village Jumagund, Kupwara,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
