A female police constable who was part of the team that carried him from Guwahati airport to Kokrajhar has charged Gujarat’s Independent MLA Jignesh Mevani with assault and molestation.
According to police sources, the constable said that Mr. Mevani was unpleasant to her while they were in Assam’s Barpeta district. He allegedly tried to shove her against the car seat with his hands, according to the sources.
On April 21, it was reported to the police station on Barpeta Road. Mr. Mevani has been accused with causing hurt, using illegal force to prevent public officials from completing their tasks, and disrespecting modesty.
