
In Jodhpur, the hometown of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, skirmishes between two communities erupted on Eid and its eve, resulting in 52 arrests.
A total of 45 persons have been arrested as a result of the incident.
Curfews are still in effect in some parts of Jodhpur, including Uday Mandir and Nagori Gate, and the internet has been turned down to prevent rumours from spreading.
On Monday night, clashes erupted over the installation of Eid flags at the Jalori Gate circle, resulting in the injuries of at least five police officers. On Monday night, the police dispersed the protesters with tear gas shells and lathi charges.
