In a speech regarding Ukraine at the White House on Friday, US President Joe Biden stated that the US will not go to war with Russia in Ukraine, but will protect NATO territory if necessary.
He stated, “In Ukraine, we will not launch a war against Russia.” “A direct confrontation between NATO and Russia, which might result in World War III, must be avoided.”
“We’ll stand with our European allies and send a clear message: we’ll defend every inch of NATO territory with the full strength of a united and revitalised NATO,” Biden said.
He refused to clarify whether Washington has proof to back up claims made by some Western countries that Russia is threatening to use chemical weapons in Ukraine.
