The Kerala government has confirmed two Norovirus infections. Two toddlers in Thiruvananthapuram’s Vizhinjam neighborhood were infected with the extremely dangerous virus.
The state’s health minister, Veena George, assuaged fears by stating that both patients’ conditions are stable. Children at LMSLP School in Vizhinjam provided samples after complaining of food poisoning and diarrhoea.
The samples were sent to a state public health lab for testing, and Norovirus was discovered in two of them. Kerala’s health department has analyzed samples collected from the outbreak area and taken preventive measures.
