Minister Anbil Mahesh has warned private schools not to do this.

A zonal level review meeting was held at the Salem District Collectorate under the chairmanship of School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh. The status of schools in Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Namakkal and Kallakurichi districts was discussed.

The review meeting was attended by MLAs and MPs from 5 districts who put forward school-based demands in their area.

Speaking to reporters following the review meeting, Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyamozhi said, “Regional level review meetings are being held across the state and the demands made therein will be brought to the attention of the Chief Minister and action will be taken.”

Noting the increasing demand for toilets and drinking water facilities, he said basic facilities in schools would be upgraded. He went on to say that the home search education programme has been a huge success, with 35 lakh students across the state benefiting from it.

He went on to say that 12th grade lessons should not be conducted for 11th grade students in private schools. He warned that the general examination for class 11 has been brought because of such activities and that strict action will be taken against private schools which violate the rules.
