
Protests against two now-sacked BJP spokespersons’ controversial remarks about Prophet Muhammed continued in many states on Sunday, even as authorities in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, demolished the “illegal” home of arrested political activist Javed Mohammad. Since Friday, almost 400 people have been arrested in various states, including 316 in Uttar Pradesh alone.
On Sunday, a mob stormed and destroyed a local train at the Bethuadahari station in Nadia, West Bengal, while prohibitory orders were still in effect in areas of the Howrah and Murshidabad districts.
