Tuesday marked the beginning of a two-week sports festival at the District Park Nand Nagri in North East Delhi, which was inaugurated by MP Manoj Tiwari. Along with physical competitions, the sports festival will feature cricket and football matches.
According to Tiwari, cricket games would be played from 7 am to 10 am and from 4 pm to 7 pm during the sports festival. In addition to women’s football and athletic competitions, there will also be cricket, according to Tiwari.
Up to 12 Lok Sabha teams from North East Delhi will compete in cricket and football games. There are 10 teams from the Vidhan Sabha, one from the Delhi Police, and a team of journalists among these 12.
“The competition’s goal is to spread the word to the public that exercise is important for health and to provide opportunities for latent street talents,” says Tiwari.
