On the shores of Palapatti Lake in Salem, a sapling planting campaign was held.

On Sunday, a sapling planting drive was held near Three Roads at Palapatti Lake.

The drive was done on the banks of the lake and in small islands constructed within the lake’s water spread area by members of Ashokar Pasumai Illam, including students.

The sapling planting drive was held here, according to A. Ganapathy, president of the organisation, as part of attempts to boost green cover on the lake grounds and provide better habitat for birds.

Nearly 50 people attended the event, which resulted in the planting of 100 saplings, including banyan, guava, jamun, and other fruit-bearing trees. The saplings would be maintained in collaboration with Salem Corporation, according to the organizers.
