
Following Rajiv Kumar’s abrupt resignation, the government named Suman K Bery as vice chairman of Niti Aayog on Friday.
Bery will assume command on May 1, 2022, according to an official order. Kumar’s term will come to an end on April 30.
Kumar, an accomplished economist, became vice chairman of Niti Aayog in August 2017, following the departure of then-VC Arvind Panagariya from the government think tank to return to academia.
Kumar’s resignation has been accepted, according to the order, and he will be released of his duties on April 30.
