President Ram Nath Kovind presented the prestigious President’s Color to the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Valsura here on Friday.
According to an official, the President’s Color is bestowed on a military unit in recognition of exceptional service to the nation in both peace and war.
A ceremonial parade was held to mark the occasion, and the President was presented with a guard of honor consisting of 150 men.
INS Valsura, founded in 1942, is the Indian Navy’s premier training facility. It is tasked with providing training in electrical, electronics, weapon systems, and information technology to officers and sailors of the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, and friendly foreign countries.
