The India Meteorological Department(IMD) has announced a red alert for Mumbai and Maharashtra from 1 pm onwards till tomorrow. It is predicted that Mumbai will receive heavy rainfall to extremely heavy rainfall in some parts of the districts.
Already, Maharashtra has been receiving heavy downpours this week.
The Meteorological Department has announced, the possibility of strong winds of about 40-50 kmph. Rainfall of 20cm is expected in 24 hours. People have been advised to stay safe and plan their travel likewise.
A red alert is predicted for Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar districts likely to receive heavy rainfall and extremely heavy rainfall.
Some suburban trains are behind their schedule, so far two landslides have been reported in Ghatkopar and Satara, and no reports of casualties till now.
