
On Tuesday, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered his elder brother, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, to be issued a diplomatic passport. According to Pakistani media sources, Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan on a diplomatic passport after Eid. The Imran Khan government has initiated various corruption proceedings against the 72-year-old head of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) since his ouster from office by the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case in July 2017. As a result, he has departed the country.
