The former prime minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe was shot on Friday in Nara while campaigning for the upcoming election.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempt murder on shooting the former PM of Japan, he is found to be 41-year-old and he is a resident of Nara city.
The news agency has reported that, the former PM, a 67-year-old had showed no signs after being rushed to the hospital.
The news reported that, Abe was likely hit from behind by the gun shooter.
The PM had collapsed during his speech; and he was taken to the hospital. Reports say, that he may have injured. The Nara city fire department said that, Abe before taking to the hospital was in cardiopulmonary arrest.
This incident happened around 11:30 am when he was giving his speech for the upcoming election outside the train station on a street.
Two consecutive bangs were heard during Abe’s speech said a NHK reporter.
Reuters reported that, Abe was hit in the left chest and the neck.
Rahm Emanuel said that America upon this incident had “saddened and shocked” by the shooting. He also added that he was an outstanding leader of Japan and “The US government and the America are praying for the wellbeing of Abe-san, his family and the people of Japan.”
