Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa issued a notification on Tuesday revoking the proclamation declaring a State of Emergency, as the island nation continues to face nationwide protests over the severe economic crisis.
The State of Emergency will be lifted at midnight on April 5, 2022, according to the English-language newspaper Daily Mirror.
Earlier, Rajapaksa declared a state of emergency in the country to ensure “public security and public order.”
