MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, has removed a minister from his cabinet following a video complaint from a subordinate stating the minister used a casteist slur against him.
Minister Raja Kannappan’s portfolio has been altered to backward classes welfare, among other sub-portfolios, according to a press release. In a trade, his transportation sector was passed over to S Sivasankar.
Stalin’s involvement, according to government sources, was also intended to convey a message to ministers that the chief minister had little tolerance for sloppy behavior in the office, particularly the kind demonstrated by Kannappan.
In a video, the claimed harassed Block Development Officer expressed his displeasure with Kannappan’s patronising tone when referring to his caste.
