Summer vacations, get-togethers, and a lowering of the guard are to blame for the Covid surge, according to NTAGI’s chief.

The current increase in Covid-19 infections in India should be put on urbanites, according to the head of India’s highest commission on coronavirus vaccines, who spoke to News18.

India continues to see an increase in new Covid-19 infections on Friday, with 7,584 new cases and 24 deaths reported across the country. This brought the total number of active cases to 36,267.

There is no need to fear, according to Dr. NK Arora, the head of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI), an elite group that makes important decisions on the usage and distribution of coronavirus vaccines in India.

Summer vacations, according to the senior official, are to blame, as travel and social gatherings are on the rise.
