Taskin Ahmed has turned down an invitation to play for the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2022 after the BCB refused to give him a no-objection certificate.

Prior to the commencement of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the Lucknow Super Giants were trying to sign Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed as a substitute for injured Mark Wood. The franchise, however, would be unable to sign the fast bowler because the Bangladesh Cricket Board has refused to issue him a No-Objection Certificate to play in the competition.

Taskin was approached by the Lucknow Super Giants with an offer to play in the IPL 2022 because he is available for the entire season and will miss the two-match Test series against South Africa, which begins on March 31. Bangladesh is currently on tour in South Africa, and Taskin is part of the group.
