On Friday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) charged former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav with a new case of corruption and conducted searches at 17 places associated to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president and his family, including daughter Misa Bharti.
The sites, according to CBI sources, were dispersed throughout Delhi, Patna, and Gopalganj. The new prosecution stems from claims that while Yadav was the Union Railways Minister in the UPA administration, he collected property plots as bribes to grant individuals jobs.
This comes only weeks after Yadav was granted bail in a fodder fraud case. Yadav has been found guilty in four fodder fraud instances and is now on trial in the fifth.
