
On Sunday, members of the Passengers Amenities Committee examined the Salem Railway Junction and reviewed the passenger facilities.
The PAC is touring railway stations in the Salem Railway Division and inspecting the various facilities provided to passengers in trains and on station grounds. The Committee examined the cleanliness, availability of water in public taps, and operation of escalators, lifts, and other facilities at Salem Junction.
They examined the subways and platform catering kiosks for cleanliness and food quality. The passengers were approached by the committee. They also went to the station’s CCTV control center and assessed the operation of the cameras installed there.
According to insiders, the Committee asked the government to enhance the number of CCTV cameras at the intersection. On the same day, the Committee examined Karur, Namakkal, and Rasipuram stations. The Division’s Top Divisional Commercial Manager, E. Harikrishnan, and other senior officials were there.
