
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has stated that he will not quit in the face of the current political turmoil in Sri Lanka caused by the severe economic crisis, but that he is willing to hand over the administration to whatever party holds 113 seats in Parliament.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Rajapaksa conducted back-to-back political meetings on Monday amid nationwide public protests, asking for the President and administration to quit.
