
According to Minister of Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav, the country’s unemployment rate decreased by 1.2 percent from 2017-18 to 2019-20.
Yadav made the statement in response to a question from Bharatiya Janata Party lawmaker Debasree Chaudhuri, citing data from the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS). Chaudhuri was curious whether the central government was aware of the high unemployment rate among India’s youth, both graduates and non-graduates.
