Hyderabad police announced Friday night that two of the five adolescents accused of gangraping a 17-year-old in an upmarket neighborhood of the city a week ago had been apprehended.
The incident occurred on May 28 in the evening, and a report was filed on May 31. However, it took another three days for police to intervene. Two of the defendants, according to the BJP, are being protected by their political families.
DCP Joel Davis said on Friday night that two of the five suspects had been apprehended and were being questioned.
