Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden met today to explore strategies to bring the situation in Ukraine back to normalcy. On the fringes of the 2+2 dialogue, both leaders digitally chatted.
The two presidents also discussed ongoing bilateral cooperation and shared their perspectives on recent events in South Asia, the Indo-Pacific region, and global problems of common concern. The virtual encounter is Biden and Modi’s first since Russia launched a military offensive in Ukraine on February 24.
“Our meetings today take place at a time when the situation in Ukraine remains very concerning,” Modi said, adding that India expects that continuing talks between Russia and Ukraine will open the road for peace.
