As protests in several states turned violent against the new short-term recruitment scheme in the armed forces, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath urged the youth not to be “misled” by anyone. In an effort to allay the fears of those seeking a career in the armed forces, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader stated that the Agnipath scheme will add a new dimension to their lives while also providing a “golden foundation.”
